When time ran out, I learned an important lesson.

As I laid the last piece of flooring for the night, I sat back and glanced at the clock. The numbers glowed that it was past one in the morning, another late night and I knew my wife, Megan, was already in bed. I was far from finished and I knew the next day I would continue building momentum.

Megan and I bought our first property together to rehab while we were expecting our oldest daughter. We thought we had all the time in the world to fix it up, but then when we could not get an extension on our loan, the clock began to speed up. With a baby on the way and no time to spare, we had to work late into the night painting, laying flooring, and redoing everything top to bottom. There was no “off the clock” time at all.

It was a rough several months, but on April 23rd, 2010, we closed on the home and our daughter, Summer, was born shortly after that on July 15th. We did not have a home when she was born because we were already leasing out the only other property we had. Our plan had been to live in the fixer upper, but then when time ran out, we had to figure out something fast. So, we spent the first few months as new parents living with my mother-in-law before we could move into our own home.

There was a lot of change over a short period of time that summer, but we made it through. I have always been someone who has a hard time sitting still. I like moving, getting things done, and it was what led me to get my first job at fourteen years old mowing lawns.

I have been working ever since and enjoy seeing things come together. For years, I worked in construction and rehabbed homes on my own before becoming a licensed REALTOR® in 2007. When Megan and I met and got married, my eyes opened to a whole new world of possibilities. Supporting each other in life and work, the sky was the limit.

What I realized rushing to fix up that home with a baby on the way was that with enough hard work and communication anything is possible. None of us ever really works alone, there are always other players involved. Whether that is in business or in life, not one of us is an island.

I have lived in Houston since 2005 and moved to Sugarland in 2013, it is the longest I have stayed anywhere since I was a child, and it is my home. This is where I chose to raise my family and I could not imagine living anywhere else. With the support and inspiration of my family, I have built a real estate team, rehabbed homes, built homes from the ground up, and raised some pretty darn smart kids who aspire to be physically and emotionally strong through inspiration of their parents and growing faith. All in all, it was time well spent.

Whenever I am not working, I enjoy traveling, climbing mountains, and going to the beach. My three kids are my biggest motivators and what drive me to aim higher each and every day. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is the diversity of each day and all the different things I can do to help my clients.

Whether you are building your dream home or expanding your portfolio, I know how to help. In real estate, I have done it all from new builds, to rehab, to investment, to residential, to land. I am not only just a REALTOR®, but I also have my own construction company because I understand that sometimes you need to create that perfect fit for you.

As a certified negotiation expert, I work hard for my clients to get a leg up on the competition and get you picked out of a sea of offers. With my background in construction and expertise at flipping properties, I take the time to pay attention. If there is something that will be an issue later down the line, I point it out to ensure your listing avoids any show stoppers.

I mean it when I say I care about your success, even if it means waiting on buying or selling. My clients are important to me, and I do not stop caring after the transaction is over, I will still be there because I want to continue to help you aim higher and achieve all your real estate dreams.

Sincerely,

Brad Stevens
